The Process

Follow these steps to open your own Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra

Application

Submit your application to become a Jan Aushadhi Kendra owner.

  • Download the application form from the official website
  • Fill in all required details
  • Submit along with necessary documents
  • Wait for verification and approval

Setup

Prepare your store according to the guidelines.

  • Secure a suitable location (min. 120 sq. ft.)
  • Arrange for required infrastructure
  • Install computer system with internet
  • Set up storage facilities as per guidelines
  • Obtain necessary licenses and permits

Operation

Start running your Jan Aushadhi Kendra.

  • Receive initial stock of medicines
  • Implement inventory management system
  • Hire qualified staff as required
  • Begin serving customers with affordable medicines
  • Maintain proper records and reporting

Eligibility & Requirements

Who Can Apply

  • NGOs / Charitable Organizations
  • Registered Societies / Trusts / Cooperatives
  • Self Help Groups
  • Individual Entrepreneurs
  • Pharmacists
  • Doctors
  • Unemployed Pharmacists
  • Any other organization/individual eligible to open a drug store with valid drug license

Space Requirements

A minimum space of 120 sq. ft. is required to open a Jan Aushadhi Kendra. The space should be in a commercial area with good footfall and easy accessibility.

Documentation Required

  • Application form duly filled and signed
  • ID Proof (Aadhar Card/Voter ID/Passport)
  • Educational Qualification Certificate
  • Drug License (Form 20, 21, 20A, 21A)
  • Ownership/Rental Agreement of the premises
  • Bank Account details
  • GST Registration (if applicable)
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Organization registration documents (for NGOs, Trusts, etc.)

Financial Support

PMBI provides financial support to the Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the form of:

  • One-time financial assistance of up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs as per the details given in the incentive plan
  • Trade margins of 20% on MRP (excluding GST)
  • Additional incentive of up to 15% of monthly sales
  • Free POS software for inventory and sales management
